The price of reverse osmosis water purifiers ranges from 1143 yuan to 3980 yuan per unit, while the price of general water quality processors (faucet type water purifiers) ranges from 64 yuan to 279 yuan per unit.

In this comparative experiment, some high and low flow reverse osmosis water purifiers have good purification effects on trichloromethane. As the net water volume increases, the purification efficiency of reverse osmosis water purifiers for trichloromethane continues to decrease.

To compare the performance of reverse osmosis water purifiers in terms of trichloromethane purification efficiency, the sampling point with a trichloromethane purification efficiency of no less than 80% was selected as the maximum net water volume, and compared with its product unit price. The lower the ratio of unit price to net water volume, the higher the cost-effectiveness of the water purifier. The results show that the cost-effectiveness of the product sample priced at 1799 yuan is much higher than that of the product sample priced at 3980 yuan.

Therefore, consumers associations remind citizens that when choosing reverse osmosis water purifiers, it is recommended to prioritize products with good purification efficiency (purification efficiency ≥ 80%), high rated total water purification capacity, large water purification flow rate, and water-saving properties. In addition, when choosing a faucet type water purifier, priority should be given to products with good purification efficiency (purification efficiency ≥ 80%) and high rated total water purification capacity. In daily use, if the rated total net water volume of the water purifier is small, the filter element should be replaced in a timely manner to ensure good purification effect. At the same time, when using, it is advisable not to turn on all the faucets as much as possible, and to keep the purified water flow rate in a small state in order to achieve better purification effects.
